Abstract

The value of ITK in South Sumatra Province in the third quarter of 2015 was 107.31, meaning that the economic condition of consumers improved from the previous quarter. This level of consumer optimism is higher than in the second quarter of 2015 (ITK value of 101.97).

The improvement in consumer economic conditions was driven by the low influence of inflation on consumption levels and the increase in consumption of food and non-food commodities.

Economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2015 are estimated at 101.70, meaning that the economic condition of consumers is expected to improve. The level of consumer optimism is expected to be lower than quarter III-2015.

Improvement in consumer economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2015 is expected due to an increase in plans for purchasing durable goods, recreation and parties / celebrations, while income is expected to decline.
