Abstract

The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting South Sumatra through the entrance of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport Palembang in October 2015 amounted to 686 people. The number of foreign tourists visiting South Sumatra in October 2015 decreased by 18.14 percent compared to September 2015.

Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in South Sumatra in October 2015 reached an average of 59.53 percent, up 5.49 points compared to the TPK of hotels in September 2015 of 54.04 percent. Meanwhile, if observed according to hotel classifications, it turns out that in October 2015 the ROR for five-star hotels reached 68.85 percent and was the highest ROR of hotels compared to other star-class hotels.

The average length of stay of foreign guests in October 2015 was 2.32 days, an increase of 0.49 days compared to the average length of stay of foreign guests in September 2015. While the average length of stay of Nusantara / Domestic guests in October 2015 also experienced an increase of 0.34 days compared to the average length of stay of domestic guests in September 2015.
