Abstract

1. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in December 2015 amounted to 96.03 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2015 still decreased compared to the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, December 2015 NTP experienced a decrease of 0.28 percent due to an index of price increases received by farmers lower than the price index increase paid by farmers.

2. The South Sumatra Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in December 2015 amounted to 102.96 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. Likewise when compared to the previous month, NTUP December 2015 rose by 0.27 percent.

3. NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in December 2015 amounted to 95.91 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2015 was also still decreasing compared to the base year of 2012. Likewise when compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in December 2015 also fell by 0.31 percent.

4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in December 2015 amounted to 102.89 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. Likewise when compared to the previous month, NTUP December 2015 experienced an increase of 0 , 25 percent.

5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sector, in December 2015 the sector experienced an increase compared to November 2015, namely the food crop sector, the horticulture plant sector, and the fisheries sector. While the sectors that experienced a decline were the smallholder plantation sector, and the livestock sector.

6. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farmer households. In December 2015 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.08 percent. Almost all expenditure groups experienced inflation, except for housing groups.
