Abstract

R Fluctuations in trade margins and transportation of strategic commodities in South Sumatra are not as sharp as national turmoil.

R In South Sumatra, the longest flow of commodity trade distribution occurs for rice, namely 7 (seven) trade chains. The shortest is experienced by shallots (2 trade chains): that is, some collectors (collectors) sell 11.67% of their shallots directly to end consumers (most households).

R Distributors of rice in South Sumatra sell 51.97 percent of their rice to Agen, 36.64 percent to Merchant Traders, 9.99 percent to Wholesalers, and 1.40 percent directly to Households.

R Red Onion Agent South Sumatra sells 40.62 percent of onion to Retail Merchants, 31.25 percent to end consumers, and 28.13 percent to wholesalers.

R Red Chillies Agent SumSel sells 60 percent of its red chillies to Retailers, 32.07 percent to other business activities, and directly to households 7.93 percent.

R Agen (also acting as a Collector and Wholesaler) of Corn Pipilan SumSel sells 53.73 percent of its corn to other business activities, 18.89 percent to Retailers, 15.35 percent to Processing Industry, and 12.03 percent directly to Households.

The main pattern of distribution of rice and red chili trade in South Sumatra in 2019, broke one distribution chain compared to the previous year's pattern, while the main distribution pattern of shallots and broiler chicken meat was the same as the main pattern in the previous year.
