Abstract

Consumer Economic Conditions Quarter I-2016

K The ITK value of South Sumatra Province in the first quarter of 2016 was 96.44, meaning that the economic condition of consumers declined from the previous quarter with consumer optimism also lower than the fourth quarter of 2015 (ITK value of 100.35).

þ The decline in household income has a very large influence on the decline in the economic condition of consumers even though consumption levels have increased and inflation has not affected household consumption.

C. Estimated Consumer Economy Quarter II-2016

þ Economic conditions in the second quarter of 2016 are estimated at 100.42, meaning that the economic conditions of consumers are expected to improve. The level of consumer optimism is expected to be higher compared to the first quarter of 2016.

þ Improvement in the condition of the consumer economy in the second quarter of 2016 was estimated due to an increase in income.

The ITK value of South Sumatra Province in the fourth quarter of 2015 amounted to 100.35, meaning that the economic conditions of consumers increased from the previous quarter but with a lower level of consumer optimism compared to the third quarter of 2015 (ITK value of 107.31).
