Abstract

ü Growth in production of the Large Medium Manufacturing Industry (IBS) of South Sumatra in the third quarter of 2016 amounted to 1.27 percent, a decrease compared to the growth in the previous quarter of 3.85 percent.

 

ü Of the five IBS production in South Sumatra, two types of IBS experienced growth while the other three experienced a decline. The highest increase occurred in the Food Industry by 20.51 percent while the lowest decrease occurred in the Paper and Paper Products Industry at minus 7.92 percent.

 

ü The decrease in production growth of IBS South Sumatra during the Third Quarter of 2016 was in line with the decline in National IBS growth, from 3.54 percent in the Second Quarter to 0.89 percent in the Third Quarter of 2016.

ü South Sumatra's Micro Small Manufacturing Industry (IMK) Quarter III 2016 grew by 1.48 percent, down 2.62 percent compared to the previous quarter's growth of 4.10 percent.

 

ü The highest production growth occurred in the YTDL Machinery and Equipment Industry by 11.99 percent, whereas the lowest production growth occurred in the Apparel Industry at minus 15.75 percent.

 

ü In the third quarter of 2016, the growth of IMK production in South Sumatra was still higher than the national growth which experienced a decline in growth of minus 2.06 percent.
