The economy of South Sumatera Province in 2016 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reaches Rp 355.42 trillion and GRDP per capita reaches Rp 43.55 million.

The economy of South Sumatera Province in 2016 grew 5.03 percent compared to 2015 by 4.42 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by electricity and gas procurement at 17.32 percent. In terms of the highest growth expenditure achieved by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component of 3.02 percent.

The economy of South Sumatera Province in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the quarter IV-2015 (y-on-y) grew by 5.15 percent compared to 3.91 percent in the same period of the previous year.

The economy of South Sumatera Province in quarter IV-2016 contracted by 3.26 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q).
