Abstraction

Calendar year inflation (cumulative) Palembang City until August of 2017 amounted to (1.87 percent). Inflation "year on year" (August 2017 to August 2016) amounted to (3.30 percent). Deflation in August 2017 in Palembang City was due to the decrease of Price Index in 2 (two) expenditure groups, ie foodstuff category (-1.26 percent); and transportation, communication & financial services group (-1.16 percent). While 5 (five) expenditure groups experienced an increase in price index, namely education, recreation and sports group (2.78 percent); health group (0.34 percent); finished food, beverage, cigarette & tobacco group (0.26 percent); housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel (0.20 percent); and clothing group (0.14 percent).
