Ø The export value of South Sumatra Province in April 2020 was US $ 289.80 million, up 9.54 percent compared to exports in March 2020 which amounted to US $ 264.56 million. Exports in April 2020 were mostly directed to China at US $ 103.41 million (35.68 percent), Malaysia at US $ 26.03 million (8.98 percent) and the United States at US $ 24.28 million ( 8.38 percent).
Ø The five main export commodities from South Sumatra Province which were the biggest in April 2020 were wood pulp / pulp valued at US $ 89.57 million (30.91 percent); rubber valued at US $ 85.67 million (29.56 percent); coal valued at US $ 53.06 million (18.31 percent); oil output of US $ 17.11 (5.90 percent); and tissue paper valued at US $ 16.12 (5.56 percent).
Ø South Sumatra Province's exports in the period January - April 2020 amounted to US $ 1,194.89 million, down 9.01 percent compared to the value of exports in the January-April 2019 period of US $ 1,313.26 million.
Ø The import value of South Sumatra in April 2020 was US $ 59.76 million or increased by 17.73 percent compared to March 2020 which was US $ 50.76 million. Most of the imports came from China at US $ 34.60 million (57.90 percent), Ivory Coast at US $ 8.33 million (13.93 percent) and Vietnam at US $ 3.17 million (5.31 percent) .
Ø South Sumatra Province imports for the period January - April 2020 amounted to US $ 201.62 million, an increase of 24.40 percent compared to the value of imports in the January - April 2019 period of US $ 162.07 million.
Ø The types of goods imported with the largest value in April 2020 were machineries / aircraft mechanics of US $ 27.23 million (45.57 percent), rubber and rubber goods of US $ 8.48 (14.18 percent), and fertilizer US $ 8.04 million (13.45 percent).
