Abstract

• In January 2021, there were no foreign tourists visiting South Sumatra through the entrance to the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang due to the Corona Virus Disease 2020 (COVID-19) pandemic.

• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in South Sumatra in January 2021 was recorded at 45.85 percent, or decreased by 7.98 points compared to the ROR for hotels in December 2020 which was 53.83 percent.

• The highest ROR for star hotels in January 2021 occurred in five-star hotels by 58.62 percent and the lowest at one-star hotels by 23.23 percent.

• The average length of stay of all star hotel guests in January 2021 was recorded at 1.49 days, a decrease of 0.16 days compared to December 2020 which was 1.65 days.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests in January 2021 is 1.53 days, a decrease of 0.29 days compared to December 2020 which was 1.82 days and the average length of stay of domestic guests in January 2021 is 1.49 days, down 0.16 days compared to December 2020 which amounted to 1.65 days.
