Abstract

Export

The export value of Sumatra Selatan in January 2022 reached US$ 355.12 million, down 27.99 percent compared to exports in December 2021. Compared to January 2021, the export value decreased by 9.87 percent.

Non-oil and gas exports in January 2021 reached US$345.18 million, down 30.01 percent compared to December 2021. Compared to January 2021, non-oil and gas exports fell by 10.84 percent.

The largest decrease in non-oil and gas exports occurred in mineral fuels (coal and lignite) of US$131.25 million (67.47 percent), while the largest increase in non-oil and gas exports from January 2022 to December 2021 occurred in fats and animal/vegetable oils of US$3, 36 million (38.94 percent).

By sector, non-oil and gas exports from the processing industry in January 2022 fell 5.22 percent compared to the same month in 2021, as well as exports of mining and other products decreased by 30.43 percent. Meanwhile, exports of agricultural products rose 41.98 percent.

The largest export in January 2022 was to China at US$111.61 million, followed by the United States at US$48.09 million and to Japan at US$31.32 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 53.79 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US$53.39 million and US$50.66 million, respectively.

 

Import

The import value of Sumatra Selatan in January 2022 reached US$84.07 million, down 33.65 percent compared to December 2021 and down 18.51 percent compared to January 2021.

Oil and gas imports in January 2022 were worth US$16.04 million, up 44.21 percent compared to December 2021 and up 1,583.09 percent compared to January 2021.

Non-oil and gas imports in January 2022 were valued at US$68.03 million, down 41.15 percent compared to December 2021 and down 33.44 percent compared to January 2021.

The largest decline in imports of non-oil and gas categories in January 2022 compared to December 2021 was machinery and mechanical equipment and their parts, which fell by US$21.24 million (45.09 percent). Meanwhile, the biggest increase was inorganic chemicals, which increased by US$1.07 million (877.57 percent).

The three biggest suppliers of imported goods in January 2022 were China at US$25.18 million (29.95 percent), Singapore at US$16.32 million (19.42 percent), and Malaysia at US$7.53 million (8.96 percent). Imports from ASEAN were US$43.64 million (51.91 percent) and the European Union US$1.83 million (2.18 percent).

According to the category of use of goods, the value of imports in January 2022 against the same period the previous year saw an increase in consumer goods of US$285.11 thousand (44.82 percent), raw/auxiliary materials of US$34.81 million (166.44 percent), on the other hand, capital decreased by US$54.19 million (66.40 percent).
