Abstract
Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In February 2022, Sumatra Selatan's NTP rose 0.30 percent compared to January's FTT, from 114.45 to 114.79. The increase in NTP in February 2022 was due to the price index of agricultural products experiencing an average price increase of 0.40 percent, while the index paid by farmers in general only experienced an average increase of 0.10 percent.
The increase in FTT in February 2022 was influenced by an increase in FTT in the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.77 percent, Plantation by 0.45 percent, Fisheries in General 1.10 percent, Capture Fisheries by 1.67 percent and Aquaculture by 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, other sub-sectors that experienced a decline were Food Crops by 0.18 percent and Animal Husbandry by 1.49 percent.
In February 2022, in Sumatra Selatan there was rural inflation of 0.04 percent caused by an increase in the average price index in the expenditure group, namely: Clothing and footwear group of 0.25 percent, Housing, Electricity, Water and Household Fuel 0 .08 percent, Household Equipment, Equipment and Routine Maintenance 0.16 percent, Health 0.12 percent, Transportation 0.53 percent, Recreation, Sports and Culture 0.07 percent, Education 2.63 percent, Provision of Food and Beverages/ Restaurants 0.29 percent and Personal Care and Other Services 0.60 percent. For the group experiencing a decline, namely Food, Beverage and Tobacco, which fell by 0.15 percent and the Information, Communication and Financial Services group by 0.28 percent.
The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) in February 2022 was 113.94 or up 0.04 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
