Abstract

The export value of South Sumatra in May 2015 decreased by 29.33 percent compared to April 2015. Likewise, when compared with the same period in 2014 (May 2014), the export of South Sumatra Province decreased by 28.10 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in May 2015 amounted to US $ 193.02 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 23.68 million and US $ 169.33 million from exports of non-oil and gas commodities.

* Malaysia, the United States and India became the main destination countries of South Sumatra Exports for the period January - May 2015, each reaching US $ 277.96 million, US $ 175.05 million and US $ 115.81 million, with the roles of the three reaching 49.98 percent of total exports from January to May 2015.

* Exports to the European Union in January - May 2015 reached US $ 119.21 million (10.47 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 331.13 million (29.09 percent of total exports).

* According to Sector, compared to the period January - May 2014, industrial product exports from January to May 2015 decreased by 19.42 percent while agricultural product exports increased by 4.21 percent and mining products increased by 12.36 percent.
