Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in April 2015 amounted to 97.84 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, April 2015 NTP decreased by 0.48 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is smaller than the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
  • South Sumatra's Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in April 2015 amounted to 102.31 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP April 2015 fell by 0, 44 percent.
  • NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in April 2015 amounted to 97.81 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2015 declined compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in April 2015 fell by 0, 48 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in April 2015 amounted to 102.34 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP April 2015 fell by 0.44 percent.
  • Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in April 2015 almost all sub-sectors experienced a decline compared to March 2015 except for the food crop sub-sector. NTP and NTUP which experienced the highest decline occurred in the people's plantation sub-sector, which fell 2.34 percent and 2.46 percent respectively, the livestock sub-sector each fell 0.75 and 0.66 percent, the horticulture sub-sector respectively fell by 0.53 and 0.63 percent, and the fisheries sub-sector fell by 0.48 and 0.45 percent respectively, while the food crop sub-sector rose by 3.01 and 3.40 percent respectively.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farmer households. In April 2015 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.62 percent. The highest inflation occurred in the transportation and communication groups of 2.68 percent.
