Abstract

  • The city of Palembang in September 2015 experienced a deflation of -0.38 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to September was 1.03 percent and the year on year inflation rate (September 2015 to September 2014) was 6.84 percent.
  • Palembang City in September 2015 based on expenditure group, showed that 2 (two) groups experienced a decrease in price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group by -1.99 percent and the foodstuffs group by -1.49 percent. While 5 (five) groups experienced an increase in price index, namely the education, recreation and sports group by 1.28 percent; the health group by 1.11 percent; the clothing group by 1.02 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.69 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel by 0.15 percent.
  • Commodities that experienced price declines with the highest deflation share in Palembang included air transportation, purebred chicken, red chillies, shallots, and cooking oil. While commodities that experienced price increases with the highest share of inflation included rice, tutoring, prescription drugs, tilapia, and fried chicken.
  •           The city of Lubuk Linggau in September 2015 experienced a deflation of -0.16 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to September was 2.37 percent and the year on year inflation rate (September 2015 to September 2014) was 8.33 percent.
  • Commodities that experienced a price decline that caused deflation in Lubuk Linggau City in September 2015 included: red chillies, broiler chicken meat, household fuel, wet shrimp and cayenne pepper. While commodities that experienced price increases with the highest share of inflation included cassava leaves, rice, clove cigarettes, vegetable tomatoes and cell phones.
  • Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in September 2015 the South Sumatra Province experienced a deflation of -0.36 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to September 2015 was 1.17 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (September 2015 to September 2014) was 6.99 percent.
  • Based on price monitoring during September 2015 in 82 CPI cities in Indonesia, it showed that 36 cities experienced deflation and 46 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Sibolga City (-1.85 percent), the lowest occurred in Bandung City (-0.01 percent). While the highest inflation occurred in the City of Merauke (1.33 percent) and the lowest in the City of DKI Jakarta (0.01 percent).
