Abstract

1. Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in January 2016 amounted to 95.37 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 still decreased compared to the base year 2012. When compared to the previous month, January 2016 NTP also decreased which decreased by 0.69 percent due to a decrease in the price index received by farmers while the price index paid by farmers increased.

2. South Sumatra Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in January 2016 amounted to 102.43 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. But when compared to the previous month, NTUP January 2016 dropped 0.51 percent.

3. NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2016 amounted to 95.21 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 was also still decreasing compared to the base year 2012. Likewise when compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries January 2016 also fell by 0.73 percent.

4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2016 amounted to 102.25 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP January 2016 decreased by 0 , 62 percent.

5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sector, in January 2016 the sector experienced an increase compared to December 2015, namely the food crop sector, rancher sector, and fisheries sector. While the sectors that experienced a decline were the horticulture plant sector, and smallholder plantation crops.
