Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in August 2015 amounted to 95.94 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in August 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, August 2015 NTP decreased amounted to 0.22 percent due to the increase in the price index received by farmers is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in August 2015 was 102.18 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in August 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in August 2015 decreased by 0, 14 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in August 2015 was 95.83 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in August 2015 declined compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, the NTP without fisheries in August 2015 decreased by 0, 25 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in August 2015 was 102.12 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in August 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in August 2015 decreased by 0.17 percent.
  • Based on the FTT and NTUP sub-sectors, in August 2015 all subsectors experienced an increase, except for the smallholder estate crops sub-sector, while for the livestock sub-sector only FTT experienced a decline while FTT experienced an increase.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In August 2015, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.38 percent. All expenditure groups experienced inflation and the highest inflation occurred in the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group, namely inflation by 0.74 percent.
