Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in September 2015 amounted to 95.73 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, the September 2015 NTP decreased amounted to 0.22 percent due to the increase in the price index received by farmers is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in September 2015 was 102.24 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in September 2015 rose by 0 .7 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in September 2015 was 95.66 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2015 declined compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, the NTP without fisheries in September 2015 decreased by 0, 17 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in September 2015 was 102.23 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in September 2015 experienced an increase of 0.11 percent.
  • Based on NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in September 2015 the sub-sector experienced an increase compared to August 2015, namely the food crops sub-sector and livestock sub-sector, while the horticultural crops sub-sector, the smallholder estate crops sub-sector, and the fisheries sub-sector experienced a decline.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In September 2015, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.55 percent. All expenditure groups experienced inflation and the highest inflation occurred in the foodstuff category, namely inflation by 0.79 percent.
