Abstract

The economy of South Sumatra Province, which is measured based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) on the basis of current prices, in the first quarter of 2016 reached Rp 84.76 trillion and on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 64.22 trillion.

ü The economy of the Province of South Sumatra in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the first quarter of 2015 grew 4.94 percent (y-on-y) compared to the same period in 2015 of 4.58 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by Provision of Accommodation and Drinking Meals by 11.54 percent. In terms of expenditure by components of LNPRT Consumption Expenditure which grew by 15.07 percent.

ü The economy of the Province of South Sumatra in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the previous quarter rose to 1.04 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, this growth was caused by Electricity Procurement, Gas which grew 11.74 percent. While in terms of expenditure, it was caused more by exports of goods and services which grew 5.04 percent.
