Abstract

Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in May 2016 amounted to 94.90 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 still decreased compared to the base year of 2012. However, compared to the previous month, the NTP in May 2016 increased by 0.37 percent due to the increase in the price index received by farmers is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.

 

2. The South Sumatra Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in May 2016 amounted to 102.42 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. And when compared to the previous month, NTUP Mei

2016 rose by 0.64 percent.

 

3. The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in May 2016 amounted to 94.75 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 also declined compared to the base year 2012. But when compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in May 2016 up by 0.40 percent.

 

4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in May 2016 amounted to 102.19 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in May 2016 increased by 0 , 67 percent.

 

5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sector, in May 2016 the sector experienced an increase compared to April 2016, namely the horticulture sector, smallholder plantations, capture fisheries. While the sectors that experienced a decline were the food crops, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

 

6. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farmer households. In May 2016 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.46 percent. Expenditure groups that experience inflation are processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco, clothing, food ingredients, transportation and communication, health and housing, while education expenditure groups,

recreation and sports experience deflation.
