Abstract

• The economy of South Sumatra Province based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at the current 2020 price reached IDR 458.43 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 315.14 trillion.
• The economy of South Sumatra Province in 2020 contracted 0.11 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, the business field for providing accommodation and food and drink experienced the highest contraction by 7.21 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, it was caused by the component of government consumption expenditure which contracted by 12.86 percent.
• The economy of South Sumatra Province in quarter IV-2020 against quarter IV-2019 (y-o-y) contracted by 1.21 percent. From the production side, the largest contraction occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field, amounting to 8.70 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, it was caused by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which contracted by 23.18 percent.
• The economy of South Sumatra Province in quarter IV-2020 when compared to quarter III-2020 (q-to-q) experienced a contraction of 2.78 percent. From the production side, this is due to seasonal factors in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries business fields which experienced a contraction of 14.11 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, it was caused by the component of consumption expenditure for non-profit institutions serving households (LNPRT) which contracted by 2.50 percent, as well as a slowdown in the growth of the PMTB component and foreign exports.
